However, it was in the 19th century that the castle reached its current configuration, when it was purchased by Count Edward Cahen d'Anvers. To him we owe the start of major renovation and extension work, commissioned to the architect Giuseppe Partini and the French gardeners Henri and Achille Duchêne, who also took care of the garden that still enhances its charm today.
